| Between October 1, 1990 and September 30, 2001 a total of $1,136,231 has been spent within Charleston Park for various project improvements. Of the total expenditures, 34% has been spent for capital/infrastructure projects, 54.8% for affordable housing activities and 11.2% for public services. |

The following is a brief description of completed projects:
- Sidewalk construction has resulted in the completion of 10,309 linear feet of sidewalks on one side of most streets within Charleston Park. Sidewalks benefit area residents through improved pedestrian safety especially for school aged children. In addition, the sidewalks serve as a catalyst for improved community appearance and neighborhood pride as well as a stimulus for housing renovation within the affected areas.
- Construction of three (3) school bus shelters to provide for the safety of neighborhood children waiting at scheduled school bus stops, especially during inclement weather.
- Renovation of an existing building owned by Charleston Park Neighborhood Association, Inc. was completed in 1994 for use as a day care center. The building is currently used as a neighborhood facility, which provides neighborhood-oriented programs for Charleston Park. A portion of the building is used for neighborhood meetings and provides office space for the Charleston Park Neighborhood Building Program. The purpose of the Neighborhood Building Program is to coordinate residents' skills, needs, and assets with available community resources, both within the neighborhood and within the larger community located outside of Charleston Park.
- County Park improvements have resulted in the acquisition of land, construction of a ball field and playground equipment installation.
- Affordable housing activities within Charleston Park resulted in the acquisition of six (6) vacant parcels, five (5) existing houses, and a combination of six (6) existing parcels and buildings that were rehabilitated and sold to qualified Charleston Park residents. In addition, four (4) new single-family homes were constructed. The result has been an increase in homeownership within the community, which in turn encourages a greater participation in the overall improvement of the entire neighborhood.
