| Charleston Park is a self-contained, residential community located east of Fort Myers along State Road 80, near the Hendry County line. |

| As of September 30, 2001, it was estimated that a total of 411 people lived in Charleston Park of which 46.5% were male and 53.5% were female. The median age was 21.6 years with 44.5% of the residents under 18 years old and 6.8% were 65 years and over. Eighty-three percent (83%) of the residents were Black, 8% were White and the remainder was "other race". Approximately 12% of the residents were Hispanic. The median household income in Charleston Park in 1997 was estimated to be $13,488 based on a survey of 64 of the estimated 112 total households. The median monthly house payment was $281 for owner occupied units and $200 for privately owned rental units. |

| As of September 30, 2001, there were a total of 117 dwelling units within Charleston Park of which 40 were located within Charleston Park Village, which is owned by the Lee County Housing Authority. Of the total 117 dwelling units, 84 were standard, 21 needed repairs and 12 warranted demolition. Fifty-one point three percent (51.3%) of the housing units were owner occupied, 44.4% were renter occupied and 4.3% were vacant. |

| The legal description of the Charleston Park Neighborhood District is as follows: "Description of Charleston Park Redevelopment Area located in Section 25 and 26, Township 43 South, Range 27 East, Lee County, Florida, described as: Beginning at a point on the north right-of-way line of SR #80 (Palm Beach Boulevard) and the north prolongation of the west right-of-way line of First Street; thence east along the north right-of-way line of SR #80 to a point on the north prolongation of the east right-of-way line of Third Street; thence south along the east right-of-way line of Third Street to the south right-of-way line of Avenue E; thence west along the south right-of-way line of Avenue E to the west right-of-way line of First Street; thence north along the right-of-way line of First Street to the north right-of-way line of SR #80 (Palm Beach Boulevard) And the Point of Beginning." |
