There are opportunities within the Lee County Department of Human Services to volunteer your time and talents to assist people in our community.  Below are a few opportunities you may be interested in:

Partnering For Results Review Panel

The Lee County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applications from residents who are interested in being considered for appointment to the Lee County Human Services "Partnering for Results" (PFR) Proposal Review Panel.

The PFR Review Panel is an advisory committee which evaluates proposals from non-profit organizations seeking funding through the Partnering for Results Request for Proposals process.  The committee makes funding recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.

Persons interested in serving on this review panel must commit to attend all meetings during the designated months. Meetings will be held weekly during the months of June, July, and August.  If you have questions regarding this panel, or for more information, please contact Deanna Gilkerson at 239-533-7918 or e-mail her at  DGilkerson@leegov.com.  To apply for this volunteer opportunity, please click here.

Juvenile Justice Programs - Restorative Justice

Community members participate in Restorative Justice conferencing with victims, offenders, and their families in order to repair harm. Volunteer Board Members participate in this consensus building process, focusing on three main principles: community safety, competency development, and offender accountability, resulting in a time-limited case plan to restore the victim. To learn more and to apply for this volunteer opportunity, please visit "Volunteer - Accountability".

 Lee County Homeless Coalition

Long Term Disaster Recovery

When the effects of a natural disaster interrupt our day-to-day lives on a catastrophic level, knowledgeable volunteers on stand-by are crucial to successful recovery efforts. While on stand-by, it is critical to keep your contact information current including an inventory of skills and talents you can offer to assist people in your community in the recovery process.  You may be asked to participate in occasional training and/or drills during times when no real threat of harm is present.
