Request for Proposal

TO ENTER PARTNERSHIP FOR THE ACQUISITION AND REHABILITATION OF HOMES

 

The Lee County Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking responses to a Request for Proposals, (RFP) from non-profit housing development organizations interested in developing an innovative plan to partner with the Housing Services Program in the acquisition and rehabilitation of vacant and abandoned homes. The successful entity must demonstrate experience with determining feasibility and acquisition of property. RFP's will be available for pick up at DHS, 2440 Thompson St, Fort Myers, FL on Monday, May 5, 2008.  Responses are due to DHS by 4:00 p.m. on May 16, 2008.

The purpose of the Housing Services Program is to address substandard living conditions and correct code violations to ensure decent, safe, and sanitary living environments. The program offers a variety of affordable housing services designed to meet the needs of eligible low-income households. Services include major and moderate housing rehabilitation, emergency home improvement repairs, rehabilitation of renter-occupied housing and home buyer down payment assistance.
